Last week we talked about some football people’s yachts. In order not to lose sight of the topic, we will first review these people and their boats, then we will introduce other people’s boats.
- Grande, a boat with 6 bathrooms (Cristiano Ronaldo)
- Super Seven of 5 million pounds (David Beckham)
- 533-foot Eclipse with a 50-foot pool (Roman Abramovich)
700 million pound “floating palace” with ice room (Mohammed bin Salman)
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who took ownership of Newcastle United last year, is used to luxury shopping. He bought Serin, one of the largest yachts in the world, from Russian vodka merchant Yuri Scheffler for more than £400 million. Measuring 439 feet long and 60 feet wide, the massive ship has seven decks that can accommodate 24 guests, as well as two helipads, a hangar (helicopter) and sauna, and even an ice room.
Reports also claim that there is a 100-meter-long submarine on top of it, with Leonardo da Vinci’s Salvatore Mundi painting hanging inside. The artwork was purchased by a mystery buyer in 2017 for £340 million, making it the most expensive piece of art ever sold. If this is true, it could increase the value of his floating palace to more than 700 million pounds.
£113 million mobile office with tennis court (Joe Lewis)
Joe Lewis, the billionaire owner of Spurs, bought “Aviva” for 113 million pounds and uses it as a mobile office. And the boat has the first full-size indoor tennis court. When Joe isn’t playing on his tennis court, he can turn it into a gym and soccer field, which is also used by the wrestling staff. Aviva, which is 321 feet long, can accommodate 16 guests and has a swimming pool, lounge, speedboat and several jet skis on board.
166 million pound cruise ship (Shahid Khan)
Fulham owner Shahid Khan is worth more than £6 billion and as one of the richest men in the world, he naturally needed a luxury yacht. His 312-foot vessel, the Kismet, can host 18 guests in rooms comparable to a five-star hotel. It’s nicknamed the “Ultimate Fun Ship” and for good reason, it seems, as it has two large sun decks that are perfect for partying. One of them can be turned into a nightclub or open-air cinema, and the other into a basketball court.
It is worth noting that this yacht was rented by Beyoncé and Jay-Z in 2018 for an amount of 835,000 pounds per week.
£68 million yacht (John Henry)
The luxury yacht “Elysian” costs 68 million pounds and its luxury facilities are not lacking. Purchased by Liverpool and Boston Red Sox owner John Henry, the ship has a swimming pool, fireplace, gym and spa. It is 216 feet long and can accommodate 12 guests in six spacious staterooms. Until 2016, Elysian was owned by Georgy Bedzhamov, a Russian banker and oligarch.
